Introducing Our Management Staff


Bruce Matulich

CEO & Executive Director

Bruce Matulich joined EGIA in 2003 as EGIA’s CEO and Executive Director and is responsible for the Association’s overall organizational management and strategic positioning. He represents the Association in key state and national industry forums and regulatory proceedings, provides oversight of EGIA strategic growth initiatives and leads the design and implementation of EGIA’s utility and government sponsored programs.

For over 30 years, Bruce has been a thought leader in advancing resource efficiency services and has managed some of the most extensive residential and commercial energy efficiency and water conservation programs in the country.

Prior to joining EGIA, Bruce was Chief Operating Officer for Energy Innovation Group, an energy services company that works closely with local government, community based organizations and business associations to deliver integrated energy efficiency solutions.

He also served as Executive Vice President at MainStreet Networks, a manufacturer and utility services company delivering Automatic Meter Reading (AMR), On-Line Energy Management & Control and customized e-services to utility companies and their customers throughout North America.

Earlier, Bruce was the Marketing Director at CellNet Data Systems, a provider of wireless data communications enabling a wide range of on-line, real-time monitoring, control and automation applications for the utility and energy services industry.

Prior to joining CellNet Data Systems, Bruce spent 18 years at PG&E, leading the Company’s energy efficiency and demand response activities as Director of Energy Efficiency Services. At PG&E, Bruce was instrumental in creating the nations largest and diverse energy efficiency program. He provided management oversight for the development and delivery of over 80 residential, commercial, residential and agricultural energy efficiency and demand response programs. Bruce was PG&E’s chief spokesman on energy efficiency issues, a frequent presenter at national energy forums and witness before state utility commissions, federal agencies and congressional energy committees.

Bruce is a graduate of San Jose State University with degrees in Business Administration/ Marketing and Industrial Technology.


Eric Howarth

Vice President of Contractor Services

As Vice President of Contractor Services, Eric is responsible for developing and executing EGIA’s overall contractor services strategy. Additionally, Eric is the architect of EGIA’s GEOSmart Financing Clearinghouse.

Recognized as one of the preeminent thought leaders for consumer financing programs within the contracting industry, Eric routinely speaks at many of the major contractor events throughout the country and works closely with several of the largest equipment manufacturers and distributors to introduce financing programs and best practices to their dealer networks. With nearly two decades of experience training contractors on how to successfully integrate financing into their sales process, Eric also consults with many of the leading financial institutions to help them tailor their programs to better meet the needs of contractors nationwide.

Prior to joining EGIA, Eric held senior management positions in sales, marketing, and product development for a national big box retail chain.


Joe Calabrese

Chief Financial Officer

Joe Calabrese is EGIA’s Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing all of EGIA’s financial and accounting practices. Joe is responsible for preparing all final budgets and reports as well as directing EGIA’s financial strategy to ensure long-term organizational success and sustainability.


Eddie Javaid

Chief Technology Officer

Eddie is EGIA’s CTO, and is responsible for the overall management of EGIAs Information Technology. Eddie has over 25 years of experience as a senior level information technology leader. He has led a number of major technology development programs for various fast paced Global Fortune 500 companies such as Oracle, Sony, and General Electric. Eddie has extensive experience creating Global Enterprise Applications, Oracle ERP, SAAS cloud based applications and building high availability systems. Prior to joining EGIA, Eddie held a Senior IT Management position at Sony PlayStation. Eddie is a graduate of the University of London (England) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Brighton (England).


Becky Howarth

Senior Director of Operations

Becky manages EGIA administered energy efficiency and water conservation programs sponsored by electric & gas utilities, water agencies and municipalities. She has extensive experience developing and delivering rebate programs including design, materials, and process flow. Becky is responsible for overall client satisfaction and program success and is tasked with ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service, building strong long-term business relationships and achieving program sponsor goals while operating within the programs overall budget.


Jeff Matulich

Senior Director of Marketing

As Senior Director of Marketing, Jeff is responsible for identifying, developing and evaluating EGIA’s marketing activities to ensure maximum awareness of EGIA and its various contractor, homeowner, partner, utility and government programs. In addition, Jeff is also responsible for directing and overseeing EGIA’s corporate brand identity. Prior to EGIA, Jeff worked at Liquid Agency, one of Silicon Valley’s leading brand marketing agencies, where he managed high-level marketing and branding initiatives for clients such as Intel, Logitech, LSI, Adidas and Visa. Jeff graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Business Administration.


Mike Robinson

General Manager, Marketplace & Consulting Services

As General Manager of EGIA’s Contractor Marketplace and Consulting Services, Mike is responsible for developing and executing EGIA’s enhanced member benefit and training offerings. Mike focuses on delivering exceptional training options to EGIA Members along with building relationships with vendor partners to help EGIA members reduce their overall costs of doing business. Mike has been the owner of, and consultant to, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical contracting businesses for over 25 years, was the President of one of the industry’s first HVAC training affinity groups and led the development of the first Vendor Rebate programs in the industry. Mike has a undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Accounting from Utah State University, is a CPA and has an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

JC Shore

JC Shore

General Manager, Strategic Markets

As EGIA’s General Manager of Strategic Markets, JC Shore is responsible for formulating the plan and leading the subsequent execution associated with EGIA’s GEOSmart Financing Clearinghouse, Contractor Marketplace and other member services across the larger renewable industry submarkets like solar, geothermal, lighting and more. JC began his career in management consulting for Accenture and Ernest & Young and later joined Amdocs as a Sales Director. After closing just under $1B in sales and professional services during his first 3 years, he served as the Vice President of Sales, shortly after the company’s IPO.

JC later returned to management consulting, as West Coast Managing Partner for BusinessEdge, a boutique consulting firm later acquired by EMC. He then founded and managed a solar EPC (Circular Energy) and co-founded an energy management software company (CURB, Inc.), named as the 3rd fastest-growing company in Central Texas over a three-year period. Circular Energy was later acquired by Pro Power, an LSE based in Ft. Worth. Most recently, he served as the Vice President of Sales for one of the largest solar distributors in the country. JC holds a BBA from the University of Texas.


Erin McCollum

Director of Contractor Services

Erin is EGIA’s Director of Contractor Services and is prominent in the energy efficiency industry among home improvement contractors as well as utility and government program managers. She brings to EGIA an extensive background in non-profit management with technical, business, marketing, and educational experience. Before joining EGIA, Erin was the Program Director for ACI (Affordable Comfort, Inc) providing tailored educational and training opportunities for the residential energy efficiency industry. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Geography from Kent State University.

Paul Bony

Director of Renewables and Contractor Development

Paul has over 25 years of diversified experience in marketing and delivering energy efficiency and renewable energy products and services at the utility, manufacturer, distributor, dealer and consumer level, including extensive experience in the ground source heat pump industry. Paul has served on the Electric Power Research Institute’s Demand Side Management Advisory Committee, the Cooperative Research Network’s End Use Solutions Advisory Group, the Board of the California Utility Energy Forum, and the Colorado GeoPowering the West state wide working group. Paul is currently a board member of Solar Energy International (SEI) a Colorado based solar contractor training organization and the California Geothermal Association. Paul earned his M.B.A. from the University of Nevada and a B.S. from Kansas State University.


Matthew Buljan

Design Director

Matthew leads the design and development of EGIA’s visual identity. Known for his modern approach to design, Matthew has established a reputation for developing smart and clean visual solutions for EGIA and its contractor network, partners, utility and government programs. In addition, Matthew leads EGIA’s team of front-end web developers, delivering rich web content and a unique user experience. Prior to joining EGIA, Matthew was the lead art director and instructor at Ink Studio, an academy for graphic arts and web design, focused on implementing and delivering curriculum for business and industry professionals. Matthew also has experience with large format design and printing, and managed in-house production and design development for MB Spot Vrgorac, Croatia. Matthew’s formal studies at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco grounded him in the Bauhaus principles of design.


Toviah Pollack

Membership & Events Manager

In her role as EGIA’s Membership and Events Manager, Toviah is responsible for managing EGIA’s contractor membership on-boarding and renewal activities as well as EGIA’s member benefit programs and partner relationships. Additionally, Toviah manages all of EGIA’s contractor events including Leadership Academy Conferences and Webinars. Prior to joining EGIA, Toviah was the Member Development Manager and Member Care Manager for the California Restaurant Association where she was responsible for member recruitment and retention, securing sponsorships, and organizing member events. Toviah holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Arizona State University.
